There is a new and improved way of travel that I am so excited about….. I must share it with you all…..it’s called Bolt Bus. It provides both an economical and efficient mode of transportation for people who wish to travel between DC and New York. I rode Bolt Bus for the first time this week and it was truly a remarkable experience to say the least. I travel to NY from DC at least once a month for business and/or pleasure and I have never traveled more comfortably for as little money as I did during this trip on Bolt Bus.

My ticket from DC to NY was $15, one-way! Normally I drive up to NY and it costs me anywhere from $75-$90 in gas and tolls to do so, ONE-WAY!

Sometimes Bolt Bus (although I have not quite figured out when) allows riders to purchase tickets for as low as $1. However, I believe you have to buy a ticket about a month in advance to qualify for those types of rates.

I would say that Bolt Bus well qualifies as the best method of transportation along the east coast that I have encountered so far. The quality and convenience of Bolt Bus far outweighs any of the similar “Chinatown bus” competitors such as Fung Wah, Apex or New Century. Although these bus companies have been providing regular travel service at cheap rates to NY, DC Philly and Boston, these buses have lost a lot of their appeal for me because they usually smell awful, always crowded, ALWAYS cost $20 one-way or $35 for a round-trip and usually arrive and/or depart sooner or later than indicated to their customers.

I picked Bolt Bus as Blacbutterflyy’s FAVORITE travel resources because it offers the complete opposite experience from everything I EVER encountered from riding the “other” bus lines. Bolt Buses are:

  • Clean
  • Cost Efficient
  • Offer Plenty of leg-room
  • Cozy Leather reclining seats
  • Very prompt in departures and arrivals
  • Non-smelly
  • Not Over crowded (Meaning there are still some empty seats left on the bus when it departs
  • Express (No stops AT ALL in Baltimore, Philly or NJ)

Most importantly, Bolt Buses offers FREE Wireless internet Access AND power adapter outlets for the convenience of its riders. What more could you ask for?

Bolt Buses are great for the frequent weekend or business traveler looking to travel to NY for a little shopping or a business meeting. Moreover, with fuel costs are looking these days, you cannot beat the expense of using this method of travel.

Bolt Bus has only been around for about a year now, but I do not think many people have caught on to it. In fact, I was a little reluctant myself to share the news because I do not want too many to find out and ruin the pleasure of it all for me. I just hope that once people start finding out about Bolt Bus that the service does not turn bad as a result.

Bolt Bus is the best thing since sliced bread!
